First Round Capital is a venture capital firm willing to invest in pre-revenue companies, often providing a company's first outside capital. The partners look to take an active role in most of the companies they invest in. First Round Capital invests nationally and has additional offices in San Francisco and New York. The firm's typical initial investment is around $500,000. First Round Capital has coordinated the first ever VC-sponsored Exchange Fund. This fund allows qualified First Round Capital entrepreneurs to contribute a small piece of the stock they own in their company and share in the performance of all the other companies in the fund. Members of the First Round Capital Community have raised over $2.5 billion in follow-on capital to date. First Rounds's $20 million in total initial investments (in those companies that have been in the portfolio for over a year) have been followed by $850 million in financing from later-stage venture firms - a roughly 36-1 ratio.

Investor. Team builder. Partner at Menlo Ventures.
I'm passionate about entrepreneurship. I have always gravitated to small projects and highly motivated teams working on cutting edge new projects. Having started my career in the early nineties, I've witnessed multiple technology shifts and economic cycles in the Venture Capital industry. I've learned that great companies take patience to build and I've developed an enormous respect for the founders who have the courage and tenacity to make their dreams into realities.
Menlo Ventures provides long-term capital and management support to early-stage and emerging-growth companies. Menlo is one of Silicon Valley's oldest venture capital partnerships, and has organized and managed eleven venture funds since their inception in 1976. With over $4 billion under management since inception, and a team with over two hundred years of collective experience in technology, marketing, sales and general management, they have the resources to support the most ambitious projects. Some of Menlo's recent investments include Siri, Roku, 3Par, MachineZone, DropCam, Tumblr, and Uber.
