The organization thrives on interdepartmental collaboration, pulling together resources from Penn Engineering, Penn Medicine, and numerous research centers and startups. Specifically, the Weiss Tech House involves itself in interdisciplinary research pertinent to precision medicine and energy science, as clearly demonstrated by their new facilities like the Vagelos Laboratory for Energy Science and Technology and collaborations within spaces such as One uCity Square. With signature initiatives like Responsible Innovation and the Vagelos Integrated Program in Energy Research (VIPER), the House is at the forefront of integrating research that addresses key societal challenges, such as energy and the environment, healthcare, and the advancement of digital technologies. Notable projects include Dan Huh's development of organs-on-chips which found their way to experiments aboard the International Space Station. This educational initiative also glorifies the collaborative spirit through community engagement, diversity, and inclusion programs.
