The Angels' Forum (TAF) is a highly regarded angel group based in Silicon Valley with over two decades of experience in the early-stage investment scene. Their focus has been on investing in startups and providing advisory services to companies from various stages: startup, seed, and exit. TAF's investments span across a diverse range of sectors including medical devices, pharmaceuticals, diagnostics, therapeutics, software as a service (SaaS), mobile, information technology, internet, cleantech, retail, and consumer products. The firm has a track record of deploying more than $75 million to help nurture hundreds of businesses, many of which have achieved successful exits through IPOs or mergers and acquisitions. Starting from July 1st, 2017, they have indicated that any new investments would be carried out by Mighty Capital, which is headed by former TAF Managing Director SC Moatti. TAF's investment process is primarily targeted at Bay Area-based early-stage companies that have raised some initial capital and/or are already generating revenue. While they do not typically lead funding rounds, they are open to investing across the life cycle of their portfolio companies, not just at the initial round. The check sizes from TAF range from several hundred thousand dollars to a few million. They value connections with potential investees, often preferring introductions through mutual acquaintances or law firms. Additionally, TAF emphasizes the importance of due diligence and has a comprehensive process in place for assessing potential investments, which includes evaluating the team, business plan, financing strategy, and the company's alignment with TAF's goals.
