What is Frontera Technology Ventures?

Frontera Technology Ventures (FTV) is an investment fund specializing in the software, education, and aerospace industries, with a focus on web marketplaces, SaaS platforms, and defense. They cater to companies at various stages, including Pre-Seed, Seed, Series A, and Series B, providing financial resources, operational support, and strategic guidance.

FTV's investment range lies between $100,000 and $250,000, with a preferred 'sweet spot' investment of about $175,000. As an entity, they hold equity stakes in some of their portfolio clients and offer extensive advisory services in several domains including finance, operations, management, strategic planning, negotiations, structure, fundraising, government relations, and marketing.

Led by Principal Harvin C. Moore, FTV brings a wealth of multi-disciplinary experience.

Harvin's background includes leadership roles across various sectors and significant contributions to education reform organizations such as Teach for America and KIPP. His executive experience in technology companies and service on numerous boards, including NASA's Space Center Houston, adds depth to FTV's capabilities in guiding high-growth technology companies.

Harvin began his career in the banking sector in New York and London before transitioning to the role of CEO of a leading online seller in the high-end furniture category.

In 2003, he joined aerospace company Space Services Holdings, Inc., which contributed to the launch of the world's first commercially-funded rocket, Conestoga 1.

Additionally, Harvin has worked to foster startup formation and growth in the Houston area through his recent leadership role with Houston Exponential.
