The firm's investment fund, Convergent Capital Partners I, is a Small Business Investment Company (SBIC). In operation since 1998, Convergent has over $150 million in capital under management. Convergent provides growth and acquisition financing to businesses committed to long-term, sustainable growth. The firm also structures investments around recapitalizations, management buy-outs, consolidations and add-on financings to its existing portfolio companies for acquisitions or other special situations. Convergent targets firms with annual revenues in excess of $5 million and positive cash flow from operations. Convergent prefers deals of $2 million to $8 million with the ability to co-invest in larger financings. As a licensed SBIC, Convergent invests in companies that meet the U.S. Small Business Administrations definition of a small business:Net worth of $18 million or less, and an average net income of $6 million or less over the past two years. The firm will consider investments in a broad range of industries across the United States.
