What is Proventus?

Proventus AB is a family-owned investment company based in Stockholm, Sweden, founded in 1969 and owned by Robert Weil.

Organized since 2017 as a family office, Proventus focuses on long-term asset management, leveraging independent analysis to manage the Weil family and foundation assets, while also serving as the custodian of Proventus’ history as an active and independent investor deeply engaged in society.

Known for their long-standing presence in European capital markets, Proventus has over 50 years of experience in the field. With an investment strategy that spans a broad range of asset classes, including equities in both private and publicly listed companies, fixed income, currencies, and alternatives, Proventus takes a diversified approach to investments. They are recognized for their role as an active financial partner, often engaged with companies that are in need of support to grow or undergo transformation.

Proventus seeks to invest in firms with a sound underlying profitability, staying generally clear of early-stage ventures. Typically, they aim for minority stakes in the realm of SEK 50-150 million.

A notable part of their story includes the acquisition of Aritmos and its brands in 1993, with a key focus on reviving the renowned sportswear brand Puma during a challenging period for the company. Proventus establishes itself as a partnership-oriented investor, bringing their extensive experience and long-term family business perspective to the table.
