IU Angel Network, part of IU Ventures, is an angel investment network designed to connect Indiana University affiliated investors with startups that have ties to the IU community.
The network aims to contribute to the prosperity of the state of Indiana, the nation, and the world by fostering a pervasive entrepreneurial culture. IU Angel Network provides its members access to early-stage investment opportunities originating from IU or founded by IU entrepreneurs.
Membership requires accreditation as per the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and an affiliation to Indiana University, which could be an alum, faculty, staff, student, parent of a student or alum, employee or administrator of IU, or a current IU Ventures donor.
IU Angel Network offers curated investment opportunities by its team of professionals, consolidated by an online platform that supports collaboration, deal flow management, due diligence processes, and portfolio reporting. Members can enjoy a degree of autonomy in their investment decisions, directly investing in companies after presentations and follow-ups.
IU Angel Network emphasizes networking, providing opportunities for investors to engage with IU's entrepreneurial activities, ecosystem, and fellow investors across varying industries. Moreover, members receive education and professional development through a membership in the Angel Capital Association.
IU Angel Network hosts monthly or semi-monthly pitch sessions and offers access to online resources for deep-diving into companies before making an investment. By joining the network, investors can support fellow IU entrepreneurs and affiliates to grow their companies with capital and beyond, potentially involving mentorship and networking support.
