What is Honey Island Capital?

Honey Island Capital is a venture capital firm that specializes in early-stage fintech investments, operating predominantly in Latin America.

Founded by the partners of EBANX in 2015, Honey Island started with angel stage investments using proprietary capital. By the end of 2018, under Mariana Foresti's leadership and with the aim to foster about 10 pre-seed startups, Honey Island raised a second investment vehicle.

Antonio Dias joined the partnership, bringing his insight from EBANX's journey to support its founders. In 2021, Leonardo Jianoti became a Managing Partner, and the firm, in collaboration with 4UM Investimentos, launched its first investment fund, investing in around 15 fintechs and B2B SaaS startups at pre-seed and seed stages.

Honey Island's investment approach is grounded in the practical experience of its partners, selecting optimum companies within sectors they believe they can contribute to significantly. They perceive the investment acquisition process as mutually constructive, aiding in planning and exploring new business perspectives. Post-investment, their mission encompasses supporting portfolio companies during pivotal moments and assisting entrepreneurs with challenging decisions.

Their engagement pillars include fostering qualified connections, generating business, and planning new funding rounds. Currently, they focus solely on fintechs and B2B SaaS model companies, with investments ranging from R$1 million to R$5 million and the capacity to co-invest in rounds up to R$20 million.
