What is Sydney Angels?

Sydney Angels is an angel investing group based in Sydney, Australia that focuses on leveraging the collective wisdom and resources of its 100 plus network of investors to support innovative Australian startups. Established in 2008, they specialize in industries such as Software, IT and TMT (Technology, Media, and Telecom), and Mobile among others.

They provide a platform for efficient sourcing of quality deals by screening hundreds of investment opportunities annually, ensuring only the best are presented to their members. Their goal is to make better investment decisions by drawing from the diverse experience of their membership, which includes successful entrepreneurs and business leaders.

They facilitate better outcomes for their portfolio companies by providing not only financing but also access to the skills, knowledge, and networks of the Sydney Angels community.

With a systematic approach involving six investment cycles each year and events that promote collaborative due diligence and learning, they are able to maintain a track record of over 40 companies invested in, with several positioned for 10x returns. The Sydney Angels Sidecar Fund (SASF) complements the syndicates formed by members who opt-in to invest in particular companies, with follow-on funding at their disposal to support portfolio companies achieving significant milestones.
