Reboot Democracy is a non-profit organization focused on fortifying the underlying pillars of democracy through technological innovation. They aim to mend the deep divides and repair the dysfunctional aspects of democratic systems that leave citizens feeling unheard and disempowered. Recognizing an unprecedented motivation across the nation for significant change, Reboot Democracy has established a comprehensive ecosystem to support early-stage innovators dedicated to creating technology that strengthens democracy. With a particular emphasis on funding and supporting women and underrepresented minorities, they work to connect these innovators with the essential investment and support to transform their ideas into reality. Originating from a hackathon in 2016, Reboot Democracy was born out of a desire to congregate a diverse and motivated assembly of Silicon Valley's best to solve democracy’s numerous challenges. The success of this event underscored the potential impact of such innovations and the clear need for continued support. Since its inception, they have engaged over 1,000 participants through various events that include hackathons, workshops, and pitch events that serve to bridge the technical world with political needs. Looking forward, Reboot Democracy is committed to discovering and resourcing the most promising ideas that utilize technology to rejuvenate American democracy. They are actively working to extend the Reboot Democracy event series across the United States and to initiate the first cohort of their accelerator program, which targets early-stage democracy tech innovators. As an entity encouraging decisive action, Reboot Democracy also provides opportunities for public support through tax-deductible donations, facilitated by their fiscal sponsorship under Harmony Labs, a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. These contributions are instrumental in expanding their programming nationwide.
