About The Fund

ET Capital Limited is a venture capital firm based in southern England, with a focus on investing in high-growth technology businesses. Founded in 1992, they have a rich history of supporting ambitious entrepreneurs and have made significant strides in backing companies that showcase the innovative application of technology. They place special emphasis on the globally significant cluster of science-based businesses situated around Cambridge, Oxford, and London. ET Capital has raised and managed multiple funds that align with their expertise in equity, especially in the seed, startup, and early-stage phases. Their first two funds, already closed, counted on backing from prestigious entities such as HSBC and the European Investment Fund. Since 2004, they have been managing the investments of Cambridge Research & Innovation Limited, which is an early-stage technology fund with a particular interest in the Cambridge area. Notable achievements include their involvement with ADC Therapeutics SA, which had a successful flotation on the NYSE in May 2020 with a valuation of $1.3B. More recently, in 2018, ET Capital partnered with UK China Enterprise LLP to launch the UK China Enterprise, an early-stage venture fund dedicated to science-based businesses with potential for scaling in China. Furthermore, they undertook the management of Carbon Order, investing in Carbon Engineering Limited - a company specializing in CO2 capture technology, which was acquired by Occidental Petroleum in August 2023 for $1.1B. ET Capital's seventh and eighth funds, Carbon13 SEIS Fund I & II, intend to invest in businesses focusing on impactful climate emergency solutions, stemming from the Cambridge-based Carbon13 venture builder. Outside of their investment activities, ET Capital's leadership team brings significant experience and knowledge to their roles, with Managing Director Martin Rigby, Non-executive Director David Gill, and Investment Director James Griffiths each boasting over a decade of investment experience, particularly in technology and innovation.
