Avonmore Developments, established in 2000 by Simon and Michael Blakey, is an award-winning venture capital firm based in London, England that specializes in seed and early-stage capital financing. They focus on investing primarily in UK-based B2B and deep-tech start-ups with high growth potential.

The firm looks for entrepreneurial management teams that possess in-depth market knowledge and experience in their sector along with some proven market demand. Avonmore Developments prefers investment opportunities backed by defendable technology, primarily with a B2B sales focus, in the UK or Europe.

They offer initial funding ranging from £50,000 to £200,000 using their own resources but also work with a network of high net worth investors, family offices, and venture capital funds to raise larger syndicates for their portfolios.

Over the years, Avonmore has invested in more than 50 early-stage companies across over 75 funding rounds. Their current UK portfolio includes more than 25 companies, and they have additional investments across Southeast Asia. Notably, Avonmore's portfolio companies have been able to attract subsequent financing from prominent investors like Softbank, Amadeus, Index, Molten, IQ, Notion, Lower Carbon, QED, and Ventech, among others.

They have achieved several profitable exits. Simon Blakey, one of the founders, is an active figure in the investment community, serving as a board member of Cambridge Angels and chairing the investment committee of Playfair Capital, with their £70M Fund III launched in 2023. He is also part of the Investment Committee of the UK Government-backed Angel CoFund since 2014.
