About The Fund

UM6P Ventures is an early-stage investment fund that focuses on accelerating scientific innovation and advancing entrepreneurship in Morocco and Africa. Acting as the investment arm of University Mohammed VI Polytechnic, UM6P Ventures directs its investments towards BioTech, AgroTech, Energy, CleanTech, and DeepTech industries. The fund primarily operates through two distinct funding initiatives: a Digital Transformation Startup fund and a Deeptech Ventures fund. They cater to pre-seed and seed-stage startups, offering financial support ranging from a minimum investment of $25,000 to a maximum of $400,000, with a sweet spot around $200,000. UM6P Ventures aims to 'Invest and Build' within a robust ecosystem that nurtures growth and development for the future of Africa and beyond. Their investment portfolio is actively engaged in a diverse array of sectors including Agriculture, Chemicals, GreenTech, and HealthTech. UM6P Ventures leverages the university's network, partnering with incubators, accelerators, and investors, including business angels and venture capitalists, to provide comprehensive support to its portfolio companies. Beyond capital investment, UM6P Ventures also contributes by sourcing advanced talent, delivering subject domain expertise, and affording access to specialized equipment and infrastructure.
