What is Moth Fund?

Moth Fund is an early-stage-focused venture capital firm committed to increasing the agency of exceptional individuals. The firm specializes in pre-seed and seed investments, channeling both investment dollars and grants to empower founders at the nascent stages of their ventures.

Focused primarily on software, including web marketplaces, SaaS, and developer tools, Moth Fund also has a keen interest in PropTech, Business Solutions, FinTech and financial services, AI and Big Data, Future of Work, Payments, and Real Estate and Construction sectors. The fund targets companies that are seeking investment in the range of $25,000 to $200,000, with a sweet spot of around $100,000 for their investments.

Moth Fund leverages the extensive experience of its founder, Molly Mielke, who has worked with Sequoia in scouting early-stage startups, edited technology stories for Stripe Press, and contributed to product design collaborations at Figma.

She also engaged in software sharing at Notion and product and storytelling at The Browser Company. Mielke's background in software and design, as well as her work for a16z and Retool, shapes the fund's approach to identifying and supporting startups with transformative potential.
