About The Fund

The European Investment Fund (EIF) is a Luxembourg-based fund of funds, established in 1994, primarily focused on fostering growth and innovation within small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) across Europe. As a subsidiary of the European Investment Bank Group, the EIF tailors financial products targeting partners like banks, guarantee institutions, leasing and microfinance entities, private equity, and venture capital funds, aiming to address market needs and facilitate access to finance. The EIF plays an integral role in driving regional development and sector-specific initiatives aligned with broader European Union objectives such as digitalization, climate action, innovation, social impact, cultural growth, and skill development.
