About The Fund

The Business Angels des Grandes Ecoles is an investment fund founded in 2004 by alumni associations of major French higher education institutions. They are considered the premier network of Business Angels in France, open to any individual with the necessary professional experience and financial capacity to become a Business Angel. Their primary mission is to support the creation and development of innovative companies with high growth potential and to finance them. The fund focuses on sectors including FinTech and Financial Services and accommodates pre-seed and seed investment stages. They offer monetary investments ranging from 5,000 to 50,000 euros, with a sweet spot of 25,000 euros for their contributions. The fund facilitates connections between investors and startups, builds relationships with major incubators and accelerators, particularly those established within the Grandes Ecoles, and organizes support and training for Business Angels. They also orchestrate the follow-up support of the funded enterprises and assist in forming Business Angel groups. As of 2023, their members, recognized for their professional expertise, participated in 29 fundraising events, contributing 4.5 million euros to rapidly expanding businesses. Since its inception, Business Angels des Grandes Ecoles has funded 229 companies, injecting over 51 million euros, which has leveraged additional financing to bring over 130 million euros of capital into these businesses. Governed by the 1901 French law of associations, they utilize a wide-reaching partner network and online informational and project management platforms to further their objectives, offer collaborative management tools, and share their philosophy and activities to a broad audience.
