The company is notable as the world's third-largest mobile telecommunications company by subscribers, boasting over 275 million subscribers across its international operations as of July 2013. In India, Airtel holds a commanding market position, being the largest cellular service provider with a subscriber base of 192.22 million as of August 2013. This formidable subscriber base also positions Airtel as the second-largest mobile operator in the Asia-Pacific region, trailing only behind China Mobile.
