What is NIC Fund?

NOVA Investment Club, also known as NIC Fund, is an investment initiative entirely managed by students from the Masters in Finance program of NOVA School of Business and Economics. The fund aims to stimulate students' interest and understanding of financial markets while bridging the gap between corporate and academic worlds.

Additionally, it fosters a positive social impact through its activities. NIC Fund operates with an investment maximum and minimum of €7,000,000, indicating a focused investment mandate, likely for educational and practical training purposes. The club organizes various finance-related activities like the London Field Trip, providing members the opportunity to visit leading financial institutions and engage with NIC Alumni working in finance.

NIC also hosts guest speaker events, workshops to enhance business knowledge, and finance competitions in collaboration with corporate partners. Moreover, the club values the dissemination of financial knowledge, shown through its newsletters and publications that address current developments in the financial industry and interview preparation for banking careers.

To support networking and career development, NIC leverages an extensive network of Alumni, offering mentorship and sharing expertise within the community. Annual events include the Asset Management Competition and Finance Talks, besides the published material, which involves a virtual fund's performance report. The club is proud to introduce its members and notable alumni, highlighting their positions in prestigious firms such as Eastdil Secured, HarbourVest Partners, and Caxton Associates.
