What is Element 8?

Element 8, previously known as Northwest Energy Angels, is an angel investment group established in 2006 with a pioneering focus on clean technology and sustainability investments in the United States. As the first angel group in the U.S. concentrating exclusively on cleantech, they have a dedicated aim to finance early-stage companies that promise to enhance the planet's sustainability and health. This focus encompasses a broad array of environmentally important areas, including renewable energy, energy efficiency, energy storage, sustainable transportation, the built environment, water quality, and agtech.

Offering a robust pipeline of investment opportunities, Element 8 has evolved beyond its regional roots in the Pacific Northwest to encompass over 130 members worldwide. These members collaborate at every step of the investment process, from reviewing applications to conducting in-depth due diligence.

Each investor retains individual decision-making power, ensuring investments align with personal objectives. Element 8 also extends their investment purview to fields such as IT and TMT, confirming their commitment to innovation and sustainability across diverse sectors.

With over $64 million invested in cleantech ventures to date, the fund also caters to a broader range of specialties, including cannabis, asserting their flexibility to adapt to emerging trends while upholding their sustainable investment ethos.
