City Hill Ventures specializes in making primary seed and early stage investments in private companies within the life sciences which covers therapeutics, diagnostics, and medical devices, and health care technology sectors including information technology and wireless communication.

Their target aggregate investment in a given company ranges from approximately $200,000 to $2 million.

The firm was launched in 2010 by Managing Partner Jonathan Lim, who previously served as President, CEO, and Board Director of Halozyme Therapeutics, drawing on his experience to drive company growth and capitalize on one of the world's leading metropolitan area biotech and life science clusters.

City Hill Ventures employs a venturepreneurship approach, which involves Founding, Funding, and Leading companies. They focus on launching new companies around promising products or technologies, investing in companies with outstanding management, and serving in key operational and/or advisory leadership roles.

Although the firm typically focuses its capital and expertise on a few portfolio companies at a time, they also make passive investments in strong teams with existing syndicates.
