What is Shenton Venture?

Shenton Venture operates as a VC fund within the Shenton Group, which itself was founded in 1987 by Colin Shenton as a residential property developer.

The Group has since expanded to become a private family office with a diverse set of interests in residential and commercial property investment, development, trading, and strategic land, in addition to treasury functions and venture capital investments in various sectors including hospitality and farming.

Today, Shenton Group boasts a sizeable development portfolio that includes over 2,000 homes and more than 100,000 square feet of commercial spaces, collectively valued at over £680 million and with plans for delivery over the next five years.

The Group’s strategic land is expected to double this value over a more extended period. Their property development activities are varied, reflecting all principal residential sectors such as Purpose-Built Student Accommodation (PBSA), Co-living, Build-to-Rent (BTR), and from 2025, luxury Later Living options.

The Group enhances their residential spaces with complementary retail, leisure, and office spaces, aiming to achieve a harmonious placemaking effect. With two hotels also underway, Shenton Group's portfolio extends to include a motto of 'Anything With A Bed!'.

Moreover, Shenton Venture's investment portfolio is quite comprehensive, encompassing around 200,000 square feet of office spaces in addition to holdings in retail, leisure, ground rents, farmland, and car parks.
