What is NESsT?

NESsT is an investment fund that operates as a catalyst for social enterprises in emerging markets and worldwide, aimed at solving critical social problems within these economies. They focus on the development of sustainable social enterprises by providing an array of support including financial capital, mentoring, and training, as well as assisting in market access.

The fund has a history of investing in various industries but shows a specialization in IT, TMT (Technology, Media, and Telecom), A.I., Big Data, and other tech-driven sectors. NESsT's investment ethos is tightly linked with the creation of quality jobs, particularly in underserved communities, while simultaneously advocating for the sustainability of the environment. Over its 28-year tenure, NESsT has made a substantial impact, having invested in 295 social enterprises, which have led to the creation of over 113,000 dignified employment and income generation opportunities and have improved 1.8 million lives.

They have put forward more than $40 million USD in investments and trained over 37,000 entrepreneurs. NESsT manages different funding initiatives like the NESsT Acceleration Portfolio, the NESsT Lirio Fund in Latin America, and the NESsT Violet Fund in Central and Eastern Europe.

They also run various regional initiatives and open calls to agricultural companies, highlighting their active engagement in project development and support within their focus communities.
