What is Mindspan?

Mindspan, LLC is a personal investment and advisory firm headquartered in Saratoga, California, United States, with a focus on healthcare, education, and technology sectors. The firm operates as a family office, and it is led by Anil Kumar, who holds the position of managing partner. Before establishing Mindspan, LLC, Anil Kumar had a distinguished career as a Senior Partner and Chairman of the Asia Center at McKinsey & Company, Inc., with roles in Silicon Valley, New York, and New Delhi.

During his tenure at McKinsey, Kumar was a pioneer in several practices, which included creating and leading the Internet consulting practice that became a significant part of the firm's global business. He also founded the consulting practices in outsourcing and offshoring, fostering India's remote services revolution, along with intrapreneurship, and globalization initiatives.

In addition to his work at Mindspan, LLC, Kumar co-founded the Indian School of Business in Hyderabad, which is now among the top-ranked global business schools. His involvement in thought leadership extends to being a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, The Indus Entrepreneurs, and the World Presidents Organization. He is also engaged in academia, contributing to research focused on technology applications in healthcare access at the University of Houston.

Kumar has shared his expertise through publishing articles in notable journals such as Sloan Management Review, McKinsey Quarterly, and Harvard Business Review.

With an impressive academic background, Anil Kumar holds an M.B.A. from the Wharton School with high distinction, an M.Sc. in Applied Mechanics from Imperial College, University of London, and a B.Technology degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay.
