What is HBCUVC?

HBCUVC is a unique investment fund that focuses on nurturing and building the future through talent, capital, and connections, with a core emphasis on benefiting Black communities.

They operate with a forward-thinking approach, under a mission that historically has been made to create the future that people want. Their main activities revolve around cultivating the next generation of entrepreneurs, investors, and equity builders by leveraging the strong and established Black network of HBCU students and alumni to amplify their mission and impact. HBCUVC's Impact Fund demonstrates a commitment to investing with the same nurturing, familial support found at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and targets high-growth tech companies that are committed to recruiting HBCU talent.

This creates a cycle of opportunity that generates wealth for Black communities and the institutions that support them. Although currently not making new investments as they complete their fundraising efforts, their objective remains clear.

HBCUVC's HBCU Futures Startup School is an immersive startup program that equips HBCU undergraduates with essential tools, knowledge, and connections to entrepreneurship and innovation. The program fosters careers and opportunities that contribute to community well-being and economic prosperity.

Additionally, HBCUVC has a flagship VC Training program offering paid internships for graduate students to launch venture capital careers, with a focus on investments that benefit Black communities. This includes mentorship and partnerships with VC firms to secure roles for participants in their network.

Angel Investing Training also forms a key part of their offerings, which educates HBCU alumni and allies to become angel investors, broadening capital access for Black entrepreneurs.

By investing in these educational programs and building a community of equity-minded investors, HBCUVC is creating a sustainable ecosystem aimed at driving wealth and prosperity. They also offer HBCUvc-branded merchandise, the sales of which support their programs and magnify their impact, inviting the community to showcase pride and further the cause.
