What is Conconi Foundation?

The Conconi Family Foundation is a private family foundation focused on empowering individuals across British Columbia (BC). Established in 2003 by Robert and Diane Conconi, the foundation was created as a way for the Conconi family to give back to the community that contributed to their success. Functioning as a philanthropic organization, it aims to inspire lasting change and bolster the quality of life within various communities throughout BC.

The Conconi Family Foundation pursues this by building partnerships and financing key initiatives within three primary sectors: healthcare, social services, and education. With a mission to challenge and transform the status quo, the foundation has, since its inception, donated over $14 million to organizations working within these sectors. Their approach is non-expert; rather than dictating solutions, they seek to form value-adding partnerships with community organizations that are the actual change-makers.

The foundation has engaged in various initiatives, often grouped under specific programs such as the Conconi Challenge, Conconi Innovation, and Conconi Legacy, each targeting different facets of healthcare and social services, allocating funds to a diverse array of projects, including senior care improvement, long-term care transformation, support for children's hospices, and assistance for homeless youth.

The foundation places a particular emphasis on shifting towards new models of senior care that promote dignity, autonomy, kindness, and stability, as articulated by their Distinguished Scholar in Seniors Care.
