The Buffalo Angel Network, part of the Western New York Venture Association (WNYVA), operates as an angel investor network consisting of accredited investors. They aim to fund the growth of the region by investing in early-stage local startups. Members of the Buffalo Angels attend regular, invitation-only meetings to evaluate pre-screened investment opportunities, contributing their individual expertise and knowledge with the collective aim to make better investment decisions through collaboration.
The network promotes a greater deal flow and has the combined capacity to execute larger deals. By investing as a group, members have the ability to build a diversified portfolio of early-start investments.
The Buffalo Angels make his or her own investment decision on each deal, with an expectation for members to be ready to invest at least $15,000 per deal annually in one or more companies. Membership benefits include access to prescreened opportunities, resources, and best practices in angel investing, leveraging the power of group camaraderie, and helping fund regional growth. Beyond considering opportunities that have presented to the WNYVA, the Buffalo Angels will also review direct applications.
To support these activities, the network has established the Buffalo Angels, LLC & Buffalo Angels II, LLC, which are member-managed seed investment funds investing in collaboration with the Buffalo Angels network. Membership for these funds is limited to accredited investors through a Private Placement Memorandum.
