Founder & General Partner at Album VC
Co-founder & General Partner at Album VC. Jumped into venture capital after my last startup, made all the blunders as a rookie VC, but caught just enough luck intercepting some special founders and my current partners to launch Album. Album's a reflection of a few lessons learned in our journey: a little luck can go a long way, and that a smaller number of deep, meaningful connections rooted in high accountability is more powerful than a broad but shallow network.
Investing in early-stage tech startups throughout the US, Album collaborates with today’s brightest minds to shape the future of technology and culture. Our approach comes from personal experience and bias formed over the course of our own startups (7 in all), the venture capital raised, and experiences working with VCs. Our best investors were true shock absorbers during the rollercoaster of startup and have become lifelong mentors and friends.
Just before a career in VC, and beginning in 2006, I co-founded Zinch.com, an online student portal acquired by Chegg in 2011; led Chegg’s international efforts through initial public offering in 2013 (CHGG, NYSE).

Primarily a consumer and marketplace investor, Nabeel seeks out entrepreneurs who develop that rare combination of design and technology to transform markets. He looks for products in which the underlying technology can be complex, but are presented as a simple, magical experience to the people who use them. This is more about characteristics of the company & founders than markets, so I spend time in everything from robotics to social media to hospitality to on demand economy.

Not interested in non-product experiences, so deep enterprise software where the end consumer is not the buyer is likely not a fit.
