I am interested in companies that are keenly focused on bringing their solution to the global marketplace versus focusing on regional opportunities. The second criteria is a B2B market. Typically, I invest in B2B deep tech startups that create unique technology and quickly respond to market signals and pivot if necessary.

I do not currently engage in synthetic biotech and quantum computing. I certainly feel these two areas are up-and-coming and reserve the right to pivot should opportunities present. Still, at the current time, they are not in focus. Likewise, I do not deal at the moment with any cryptocurrency projects.

a) To keep LinkedIn useful as a way to meet people through common friends or associates, I only link to people I have met face-to-face and that I would feel comfortable asking for a personal introduction to one of their contacts. b) I’m not an active LinkedIn user. I check my LinkedIn messages when I happen to open the app every few months. If you’re trying to get hold of me, don’t do it here. I invest in and advise early stage companies through Neu Venture Capital. I also teach entrepreneurship and innovation at Columbia University. I've been called one of New York’s top early stage investors by Business Insider, a “known quantity” by the New York Observer, and “responsible-sounding” by the Wall Street Journal. Before Neu I co-founded Root Markets, a pioneer in programmatic marketing. Before that, I ran the venture capital division of Omnicom Group, the world’s leading marketing services company, and was involved with the seed financing of many of the first wave of internet marketing firms. Prior to that I was at Prodigy Services and Deloitte & Touche Consulting Group. I started my career at IBM as an engineer on the design team of the ES/9000 family of mainframes. I write at http://ReactionWheel.net.
